We love floor vases. They’re a timeless choice when it comes to home decor, and with good reason. A tall vase is an easy way to spruce up a room, and it grabs visitors’ eyes as soon as they enter. While we love displaying our floor vases as is, sometimes it needs a little more zing in the form of vase fillers. Luckily, there’s a huge selection of options regarding floor vase fillers. Here are some ideas of what to put in a floor vase:
1. Dry Branches
Dry branches are a classic, whether real or faux. You can choose to display a whole bunch of thin, curly branches, or several large ones. Curly willow, manzanita branches, and faux jasmine are all tall branches that are perfect for floor vases.
2. Large Foam Flowers
Oversized faux flowers made of foam or latex are a great choice for a more modern look. Larger flowers should go in first, then use several smaller ones to fill up the space. For a more striking effect, a single giant foam flower will look great.
3. Crystal Branches
Crystal sprays are branches with little crystal-like pieces of glass attached. Crystal branches look especially great in more modern, minimalist floor vases. The crystal shimmer adds a decorative sparkle to an otherwise plain vase.
4. Gold leaves
Add a touch of glam to your floor vase with gold colored faux leaves. You can either buy them ready in a crafts store, or spray paint them yourself.
5. Silk Flowers
Realistic looking fake flowers are available in countless styles and colors, and their beauty often rivals those of their natural counterparts. Artificial orchids are a classic choice that will never go out of style, as are calla lilies. Thin sprays of lavender, cherry blossoms, or baby breaths will create a daintier look.
6. LED branches
How about adding some cozy twinkles? For a dramatic effect, display some LED lighted branches in a tall vase. Be careful not to overdo it though; two or three sprays would be perfect. Combine LED branches with plain ones to add just the right amount of sparkle to your home.
7. Jumbo feathers
This is definitely not your typical! Ostrich plumes will add a soft touch to your home décor that’s festive and glam all at once. White, black, or a mix of the two are a classic choice. Mix in some color for a real showstopping look!
8. Faux leaves
A bunch of green leaves sitting in a floor vase is the next best thing to real foliage. Silk leaves would look great in just about any room and help soften up your home decor. Silver dollar eucalyptus, palm leaf, or fiddle leaf are classic choices.
9. Cotton Stems
Cotton stems have little cozy balls of cotton on them, which will add interest and warmth to your floor vase arrangement. Cotton stems have a rustic country charm to them, so it would look best in a natural bamboo vase.
10. Glittery Twigs
With twigs and branches being the most common vase fillers, I’ve mentioned them in several forms more than once in this article. I couldn’t leave out this one though! Who doesn’t love the shimmer and sparkle of glitter? Silver glitter coated twigs look amazing in solid white floor vases, and gold goes well with a striking red.
